Green Beans in Frankfurt or Cologne

Postby myorn joshua » Sat Jun 05, 2004 8:01 pm

Hi!

Thanks for opening a place for us non-Europeans.

I will be in Cologne (Koeln) Germany af the beginning of September for a trade show. I hope to be in Frankfurt a couple of days before.

Are there good places to buy Green Beans in either city?

I have purchased good roasted beans in Koeln at Neumarkt (www.kaeffchen.de) but, now being a homeroaster would like the chance to buy some greens.

Also, what is the situation in Italy?? (Area of milan??)

Howdy!
I can't tell you about Germany, but if you need green beans I can send you some.
This is the list of my friend, if you like to try one of these feel free to email me.
http://www.caffee-compagnie.com/ws23/default.htm
I guess the prices are less then on this list when purchased green, but then the mail adds up again.... I also would recommend when you first try a green coffee - get the same kind roasted to to compare each other when home roasting (color, taste)

Hope that helps, too :-)

Have fun in Europe!!! Will you also visit Vienna?

Hello Myron - good to see you here (for those that don't know him already, Myron is a regular on the SM list and also a.c from time to time). Myron lives in Israel and was kind enough to ask for TMC membership a while ago. It was with some regret that I pointed out our membership terms of reference.

Myron - I've sent an email to our (currently token) German member, asking if he can help.

All the best

Phil

Home-roasting is not that popular in Germany. The only adress I know of in Frankfurt is:
Wacker
Kornmarkt 9
60311
Frankfurt
Tel. 069/287810
A wellknown local roaster, but they only sell maybe three different kinds of their beans grean.
Thats why I do mailorder and if you are in germany for several days you may do as well.
My very helpful and friendly supplier is www.berliner-kaffeeroesterei.de. They stock about thirty different beans, start as low as 250gr and get cheaper as listed with larger amounts 8thats not clearly explained on the web).
Contact Herrn Richter, he speaks english. I am sure they can deliver to your hotel prior to or within your presence there.
But I will also run a thread in www.kaffee.netz.de and ask specifically for adresses in both
cities.

Thank you for the address in Frankfurt and the idea of ordering on line with delivery to where i will be staying in Koeln.

If you come up with anything else, pls update me here.

All the best,

You have been so much help. Thanks!
I went to www.berliner-kaffeeroesterei.de and tried emailing to an address provided there to the attention of Mr. Richter-but the email returned to me with an error message.

Do you have an email address of Herrn Richter.

Ciao, myron

I made it on the website and then phoned them. everything should work, according to them.
Maybe try kontakt@berliner-kaffeeroesterei.de again?

Hi Guest. Many thanks for that info.

Please could you give me some info about Best Coffee so that I may add them in to our web links section?

Best wishes

Phil
