Macap 58 mm burrs for M4, M5...who'll sell these to me?

Postby Belgik » Sat Jan 19, 2008 1:28 pm

Hi, yesterday I had some correspondance with Iberital and it boils down to the fact that they wouldn't sell them to me as a private person (and we're talking of a less than 10 Euro item)...I think they were more embarrassed at the shipment cost in relation to the item cost rather than any other considerations, they were very friendly, even phoned me from Spain...

Does any one (Holland?) know who whould sell me a set of 58 mm Macap burrs? I'd like to buy a set to have keep in reserve...
Thanks for any viable suggestion...

Paul

Hi Lukas, without having contacted them specifically, only from info on their website they do not carry "Macap" spares (but they might...) Meanwhile I just ordered some from espresso service west in Holland.

I remember coming across spare Macap 58 mm burs at bellabarista website.

In fact have just checked, they still have them for 20 quid.

I hope I have not broken the rules by mentioning their website:).

Cheers,

Jordan

Nope, not unless you work or are paid by them in any manner.
I used to recommend Steve, but I had to stop because he kept on slipping in free stones and twigs with my beans

There are several Macap grinder sellers at the moment in Holland.

Seems to me that if you sell the grinder, you should stock the burrs.

Koffiewarenhuis, Van Pommeren, Casa Barista, ESW..

Personally I like ESW in the Hague a lot. You could try there

I emailed a lot of them, and even Macap in Italy, who sent me to ESW, where I purchased the burrs. Koffiewarenhuis literally wrote me they sold ONLY the machines.

All in all, however, I can confirm any interested party that the prices (for Macap burrs) quoted at the Bellabarista website are VERY interesting (but the info was too late...)

A bon entendeur....

Gents,

bumping this as I'm looking for a set of 58mm Macap burrs, but it's a nightmare to find them anywhere.

Also, does anyone know whether a set of Mazzer Mini 58mm burrs will fit into a Macap 58mm grinder? I'm mostly after the hole diamater, as everything else seems to fit.

Regards,
dsc.

Not of any interest to you Tom, I do have a set of 64mm Mazzer burrs, on the back of the package it gives detailes of inside and outside diameters, thickness and number of fixing holes. It may be worth checking their site for details of the 58mm set or hopefully someone on the forum has a set with all the relevant information you need.

Off to Cornwall for a week of debauchery and flower arranging.

Hi Pete,

actually it turns out I need a set of 64.5mm burrs:0 it's a weird combo of:

64.5x38x8.5mm

Already bought a 58mm set from Scott at HD and emailed him later about the 64.5mm later on as well. Waiting for a reply...

Saying that, curious what the 64mm Mazzer set is like, can you check the other dimensions for me?

Regards,
dsc.
