Here I go again - begging bowl held out!

TMC is not just a forum - it lives and dies by its content. Articles, in other words. The flow of new articles has dried up for the moment. I have two articles in preparation, but these are stalled whilst waiting for photos from the authors. We haven't had anything new since Simon's article on PIDs.

How about it folks? Fancy writing a machine review for example? It would be really interesting for one of you folks with a Euro 2000 Junior to pitch up with a review, for example. Enough people have Imexes. Simon has been really great about articles - how about someone else pitching in with an Imex review? Some of you have Alpenrösts and are happy with them. How about writing an article to balance all of the recent Hottop enthusiasm? Some of Raf's original content has a layout that you can use if you can't think what to write - you may find the suggested headings useful.

Or how about another "Coffee in ...." article? We have Raf's article on "Coffee in Brussels", and we will shortly be publishing Danny's (MrFollies) article on "Coffee in Amsterdam". How an article about coffee in another major European city? (Disclaimer - I no longer work in London and I don't think anyone would be interested in "Coffee in Swindom" - it would be short and damning, believe me!).

Or how about some more cupping reviews? A number of kind souls sent some in a couple of months ago, but none have arrived since. I don't know about the rest of you but I think we're all interested in coffee - machines, brewing methods, roasting etc are all means to an end - the enjoyment of coffee.

Any useful content gratefully received.

(Alms for the poor! Alms for the poor!)

I can probably do something on my experiences mooding the Imex if I get it running well, but that won't be for a while. Plus my time is short at the moment as Jess has started the 2nd year of her masters course which means I'm doing more housework, cooking etc so she can spend time on assignments (she works full time too), plus the computer is tied up quite a bit.

I'll get my Monsoon Malabar tasting notes written up in the next day or two (I've been busy with building parts of a new kitchen for three days), and I'll write you a review of my Gaggia bean-to-cup machine if that would be of interest.

Is there a template for machine reviews, or just write what I think at the time?

Look under "Articles & Reviews / Equipment Reviews" on the main site menu (the drop down one at the top centre). Raf has done some reviews and there's a general template there. You don't have to use it, but it might be nice if you used a version of it in order to give the site some consistency. If you have any problems, email either Raf or I.

BTW, don't forget - you don't need to send us anything fancy looking, just some text and pictures that can be dropped into that template or some reasonable variation of it.

Cheers

Phil

Just sent in a couple of cupping notes. I'll write the review of the Gaggia when I've got more time.
