Back to the Clover (sorry old thread), I've done some digging on this one and I've asked if there goinf to do a 240v version. But the price !!!! $7000 !!!!!!

Reportsa are that its one of the best things to hit coffee for a long time, I would love to see one, and more so try one.

Just back to the salt - contrary to popular belief sweetness doesn't counter bitterness, but salt (for most people) does. There is an interesting test you can do with salt and tonic water which I will elaborate on if anyone is bored.

Back to the Clover. I see the idea behind it and I hope to god it works. There are coffees out there that you want the general public to experience in their finest form. With many coffees this is not espresso, as said above. French press is great for this but it is slow and there is no to-go option. (In the US very few people [without laptops] seem to drink their coffee in store, unlike the British). Vac pots and all the rest are good but you lose the brewed as fresh as possible taste.

So the tie in between Artigiano's Clover and their winning CoE lot make perfect sense to me. I look forward to either getting to the States to try it or getting one sent over here somewhere. I wonder how much they cost.....

$7000-£8000 for the 110v version is the cost Jim! Want to go 50 / 50

I heard about sammy getting the clover and the brazil gold dust, nice marketing ploy.

All they need to do is drop that price

I am sure once they get into production proper the price will drop drastically. The ones around at the moment are all prototypes as far as I understand.

Now if I could only try before I buy...

They were I think they are now in production (as of this month).

Ah well - I'll stick my french press. I do want some of those little filter things like Monmouth have though... such a good cup, and so very cheap to do!

Another good one cup filter like the Monmouth one is the 'Swiss Gold'.

I like it because it's simple (no filter papers) and it goes in the dish washer.
Great for drinking real (single origin) filter coffee at work.
