Caffeine withdrawal

Postby Terje » Tue Sep 06, 2005 11:03 am

Last Wednesday... didn't drink the coffee I need in the morning, sat in a bad meeting all afternoon, headache came creeping... by the time I ordered that espresso in the café I was nearly in tears.
Different beans and a frying pan, Zassenhaus grinder and a couple of moka pots...

Curiously, yesterday I overslept, and didn't have my morning coffee, but suffered no ill effects at all, apart from feeling mildly more sluggish at first. No headache or real tiredness. It just shows how differently people react to caffeine, or lack of it.

I don't think this is just a caffeine thing. At the moment I only drink decaf. If I don't get my morning espresso I notice the difference all day.

Which decaf are you drinking? The only good one I've been able to find is the Sumatra Mandheling, and it would be good to have an alternative.

Been up early this morning to get some work done - the joy of working on different time zones.
Just heard the timer kick in to start up my good old machine.
Time for a shower now, and then....a few shots to get me through another long day!
Just can't do without.

Sam.
