There's been a small thread on cats - but we all know the only real pets are dogs!!!

This is Barbie - got her a few weeks ago from the Dog's Rescue Home ...

This is her "Sunday best" superdog outfit ...

any pics from other proud owners?

I could post a pic of my pet, but nobody would believe me, or just think I was mad, on top of which, the poor fella lives 600 miles away with the outlaws :-(

Ah, intrigue! It does come from south america though!
Anyway, she looks like a lovely dog Paul, and good for you for getting her from a home; though that infuriates me (my turn to be the pessimist for once!), to see such a lovely animal, which should never have been in a home or needed to be rescued in the first place... I do wonder about so called "humanity" sometimes!

Yep Steve it's a Staffie,

The Vet reckoned she's approx 14 months old - she is amazingly affectionate with people and children but is a psychopath with other dogs. My best guess is that for whatever reason (maybe another dog's attacked her when she was younger) she has attacked another dog (and it is in the breed sometimes) and her owners just threw her out - all guesswork but it would make sense why a dog in such good condition was kicked out. It's a shame - but not a reason to abandon her.

I just have to be careful taking her out, so the harness isn't just for show! - it's so I can grab her if another dog gets too close + they are so powerful they tend to choke themselves on a normal collar.

and Gouezeri and I'm totally with you on the "humanity" issue ...

oh, and I'm guessing your pet is an anaconda?? 2nd guess - piranaha, 3rd guess - parrot????

Your assumptions are probably right, I'd guess the previous owners already had a dog and tried to introduce a new one, with dire consequences.

A well known literature professor (well, more of an author really, but no longer with us after a tragic accident) I knew had a note on his office door to the effect of "please do not put anything under my door, because of the dog." Freshers always thought it was a joke, gotta love the naïvety of a fresher! ;-)

and it's always a good excuse for those essays you've marked but "mislaid" ;-)

"Now, I remember marking it when I was in the bar.... but what did I do with it afterwards...?" ;-)

Great dog .. rescue is such a good way to get a pet .. thats how I got my two Dalamations (huge trouble and hhunger .. but worth it!).

I would post you all a piccy of them here .. but I dont know how to (so inept!)

Brikka arrived yesterday .. nice crema but flavour seems very similar (so far) to my 1987 model Bialetti (Brikka much shinier though!)

My Mom has always had staffy's so I've grown up with them. Trust me they hate other dogs (I've found out many times walking them). Its deffinatly a breed thing.

Lovely picture mate, great head on it, parted really well.

My cat is called Sampson, (the name of the black cat on the sunderland shirt, and the mascot), I'll try and get a photo of him when he stands still

What an energy bundle. Beautiful color, and what a lucky dog to have such an understanding owner now. Congrats.

I'll try to find a pic from my Jeany (when we found her on the highway, she was so small you could fit her into a bottle, and I loved the TV series about "Genie", the goast from the bottle.....)

PPS.: Jeany can fold her ears backward, too. Then she looks like a mini-greyhound. On these pics she looks like a bat...

and if she touches the tampers, Barbie will find herself in another dogs' home (only kidding!!!!!!!)
