Folks
Apologies for the interruption to service last night and this morning.
Last night I applied a set of routine upgrades to the server applications, including an upgrade to PHP 5 which took us to PHP 5.3.
Unfortunately there was a fault in the upgrade supplied by the FreeBSD ports team. This upgrade changed the location of the shared libraries used by PHP but failed to update php.ini to that effect.
I didn't become aware of the fault until early this afternoon. Software upgrades like this one are normally so routine that I don't bother to check that everything is still fine. These are production software upgrades, and for the last several hundred times everything's been OK.
Not this time, unfortunately. My sincere apologies for the glitch.
Phil
