To everyone : I have today found additional evidence to convince our host's support people that this is their problem, not ours. I just sent this:
Dear Host Europe Support
In case you have been labouring under the mis-apprehension that this problem
was somehow an application software issue and therefore my problem, you'll
have to change your mind.
I just went into phpMyAdmin for the database in question (postnukedb) and
selected a table. This is what I got:
Database postnukedb - Table pn_blocks running on Host Europe
Error

Lost connection to MySQL server during query
I think you have a MySQL problem. Please advise as to its nature and what
steps you are taking to remedy it.
Kind regards
Phil Jordan
I'm sorry it's taking so long to get our own dedicated server finished - it was almost there a month ago, but since then I've been so tied up with personal stuff that I haven't been able to finish the work. This problem is making me determined to get the server finished as soon as possible. However, my wife and I are away for most of this weekend so it'll probably be a couple of weeks yet.
Once more, I'm really sorry for the continuing problems affecting the usability of TMC and I am doing everything I reasonably can to resolve them.
Phil
