I don't think you are missing out on much Bruce. I am still working with shoe boxes full of punched cards and find them adequate for my needs.

I did look at that, but I didn't want to just do it because I could, it's a serious progression to try and move over to Apple for my next laptop upgrade, but to do that I still need to intergrate with my 100% Windoze business - paralells makes my Windows 7 install work virtually as if native - including printers, shared internet and plugging in usb devices gives the option to use them with the mac os or windows os - more features and it does want I need. Somewhat annoying my accounting software and other legacy programs still make Windoze a neccesity.

And everyone else, when everything else crashes I still have my Acorn Electron 32k to fall back on - takes a while for the tape to load but I turn the sound up and boogey to the squeeks and bleeps - old skool dubstep

Oh that is easy Aadje. I do it the old fashioned way. Just draw images on the corner of the cards and make a flicker book.

Always a pleasure to be beaten by you geedee.

As for the Spectrum I consider that the fact you can double the memory by adding just 16 kB a definite plus and it should then be good for another decade or so.:D

Oh I am jealous, I consider the Electron to be a proper computer. I think I will stick with the old punched cards myself. After several decades the only crashes I have had have been due to dropping shoe boxes full of punched cards all over the floor. Happily this also doubles as an excellent (almost uncrackable) encryption system. :D

Once again I am pleased at my decision to stick with DR-DOS and my dial telephone. 8)

Aadge, no one here can keep up with that level of computing power. To be honest I don't thing the world is ready for 64K, with that much power, man could safely travel to the moon and back.

A machine of that awesome ability would fill a room, the chain printer and tape library would need another.

No my friend, that is simply some ones unattainable dream, like flying machines and soft ice cream, it will never happen.
