digital photo camera

Postby Sunnyfield » Sat Aug 23, 2003 7:36 pm

I am looking to buy a digital photo camera.

Any recommendations and/or experiences?

I am considering the Canon IXUS 400 and the SONY DSC-V1.

Amazing how much cheaper they are in the US of A and Hong Kong!

I used a HP for a while (8500 something, I believe, or 850).

The thing to watch out for in digital cameras is the shutter lag: some cameras you press the button, and (especially when the light is low) it takes another two or three seconds before the shot is taken - by which time you've already moved the camera and your picture is all blurry.

My son's Olympus 3020 is great, but that feature is very annoying. It catches me out if I haven't used his camera for a while.

Anyone know why it happens?

I asked the guy in the photoshop around the corner (find the movie title in that!). Apparently it has to do with a light shortage or something. Didn't understand the whole theory behind it.
This week I am eagerly anticipating the first god shots from my La Spaziale machine....
