Too Much Coffee

Hi guys,

Unfortunately my other half isnt much of a coffee drinker, cant stand it. She is however very fond of her hot chocolates.

What brands do you guys use?

I figure if im gonna be spending time and money making the best coffee, I shouldnt skimp on her hot chocolate

That was exactly the one I was considering! We use one thats almost a solid chocolate at room temperature, needs heated to pour. Its biter though

I use the Ghiradelli too and can confirm the over sweet after taste, we blend our coffee so why not try a mix of the two.

You can of course make your own, hot milk with a few chunks of 85% cocoa solid dark chocolate melted into it, then reheated and whisked, is better than any comercial brew. It takes a few tries to get the mix right but it is worth it. Sweeten to taste then top with fresh cream.


Before coffee there was Marcel Desaulniers 'Death by Chocolate' in my kitchen library. Like coffee you only get the best by using the best. Only use the best Belgian (I knew they has a purpose) chocolate and reap the rewards.

I have also tried these (was given two free.) Nicer than the Ghiradelli, far less sweet, but at £1 for each drink a bit pricey

It's between the Ghiradelli and the wee chocolate sticks. I'm thinking the Ghiradelli, with a pump so I know how much im putting in each time, I tend to be excessive when I pour!

+1 on the Choc-o-lait brick-on-a-sticks. They are really very nice.

Also, http://www.hasbean.co.uk/products/Choco ... g-Tub.html is very very nice as well, although the powder is very fine, and if you get it on your hands you smell of drinking chocolate for a while afterwards!

Has anyone used William Curley's hot chocolate? I'm interested to know what the directed dose is at £10 per 250g.

[tchocolatl] from Coppeneur Either in the shape of a cocoa fruit, on a stick. Or in the form of small chocolates, that you drop into the milk. This is great as you can dose each drink differently according to the taste of the drinker.
