The cost of technology

Postby simonp » Tue Nov 02, 2004 10:37 am

I had a lesson in the cost of technology at work yesterday. Due to our ingenious design of products reducing 6 harnesses down to 1, and replacing 10 memory pods with 1 universal one we are now having to let go of 6 production (over 50%) staff  How guilty do I feel
At the end of the day, we had to do these things to stay competetive, but it doesn't make you feel very good.

A very common occurence. Aint it strange how those forces of the market (globalisation etc) have a life of their own and dictate the way we live and work?
