Ashes 2009

Postby Bombcup » Sun Jul 19, 2009 3:34 pm

Currently convalescing from the dreaded pig flu but being cheered up no end by Australia's impotent performance in the ashes being punished by a dominant England XI. Ponting's drop yesterday was priceless!

So are we going to wrap it up today or will there be more entertaiment tomorrow?

Mt Aussie mates had a great time complaining that we were saved by rain in the first test. They have gone a bit quiet this time, I presume they are concentrating on their rain dance.

please.... If the umpires had referred maybe one or two of their ridiculous out calls to the third umpire maybe Australia would stand a better chance.

we'll see what happens tonight or today or whatever time it is over there GM way. We only need 200 or so, clarke can knock that before breakfast.

I know, those umpires really upset Mitchell Johnson to the point where he couldn't hit the side of a barn at medium pace and Ponting was so dismayed that he only made 40 in two innings and wank-handed the easiest slip catch of the series.

it's prolly best for england... i guess you guys really need that confidence boost - because mostly you just lose at cricket. which is sad. and a little pathetic sometimes.

Yes, it all sometimes makes me feel rather inferior to you Aussies. How on earth can we English chaps compete on such a level?

I know, 1-0 up in the ashes, runner-up in the rugby world cup against, er, not Australia (did you only manage a semi?). What else do you lot excel at? Ah, swimming and track cycling.... What was that olympic medal count again?

Your greatest sporting hope is Greg Norman right now!

Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! stop antaganising our little antipodean friends, they are very sensitive and bathe a lot more than we do. I think it is called The Lady Macbeth Syndrome.

I am slightly ashamed of you lot, here we have the ideal opportunity to drag out all the old cricket puns and none of you are prepared to start:

Ricky Ponting is ashen faced at his defeat.

The ashes are just a load of old bails.

Its the game that counts, not the rubbing of noses into the ashes of defeat.

Losing to England is a team effort.

OK! War has been declared, get on with it.
