waiting a month for an ebay item

Postby dsc » Thu Jun 04, 2009 12:55 pm

Hi everyone,

some of you might know I won an auction for a Mahlkonig Guatemala a while ago on German ebay, but I still haven't received it. Today is actually a month since I won the item and I'm starting to get a bit pi**ed off to be honest. It was sent two times, first one simple bounced back to Germany, some problem with the post code, so the seller sent it again last Friday. I gave her my full work address with all the details and 3 telephone numbers in case anything bad happens. It was sent with DHL Paket International which is basically a big package sent with their Deutche Post. DHL website says it should take 3 days to get to the UK, but it's been more than that I'm now considering opening a ebay dispute with the seller (still have 15 days to do it).

Does anyone have any experience with DHL Pakets and know how long it can take to get it here? I've been asking the seller for a tracking number for a few days now, but it looks like she hasn't checked her emails for a while or it's a scam (although we exchanged around 20-30 emails since I won so she might simply be away).

Any suggestions/ideas/info, especially from people living in Germany will be appreciated.

Regards,
dsc.

Opening a dispute might crystallize the matter in her mind.

My experience of DHL Paket (to Ireland) is it generally takes about a 3/4 days alright.

You seem to have had far more than your fair share of problems with equipment purchases Tom. I hope it arrives soon without further hassle. :?

Hi guys,

thanks for the info and support. It is true though, if something can go bad it usually does, let's hope this one turns out ok.

I will wait until tomorrow and if it doesn't arrive I'll open a dispute.

Regards,
dsc.

Hi Sico,

awesome, thanks a lot mate!

Well it didn't arrive and I've opened a dispute. The seller said it should already be here (well duh!) and that he/she will check with the post office to see what's going on. The thing that smells fishy here is that he/she still hasn't sent the tracking number, even though I asked for it 4-5 times (and he/she said that it will be sent a few times). Perhaps the grinder never got sent in the first place?

Regards,
dsc.

Hi guys,

just a quick update, the item hasn't arrived even though I asked the seller to send it to Bruce in Germany. It's been almost a week now and still no sign of the damn grinder. I've reported the seller and that's pretty much all I can do.

Perhaps I should fly there and beat the crap out of him/her...

Regards,
dsc.

Hi guys,

I doubt the grinder ever arrives or I ever get my money back.

Ebay probably won't change a thing:|
