snowed in, free holiday:)

Postby dsc » Mon Feb 02, 2009 6:37 am

Hi guys,

as most of the UK, I'm snowed in and I'm not even going to try to get to work. It's quite warm, but still the amount of snow means it's quite hard to get anywhere, especially in a car with summer tires.

So who's sitting at home on a Monday morning as well?:) it's like 30cm of snow here, it's foggy and it's still snowing!

Regards,
dsc.

i'll go stick a ruler in the snow outside.. .. it looks about 10-15cm here in east london.

my bicycle tires say "all terrain" on them so i'll try that out this morning on my way to work.

I'm only 2.5 miles from work so I 'could' walk in, but not sure it'd be worth it as not many people will be in.

And I parked my MTB in the office over the weekend otherwise I would've loved to take it for a spin in this!

Hi guys,

I think that 80% of the UK is going to stay home, it's simply not worth driving and risking a crash or worse, being snowed in AT work:)

I think I'm going to take my Nikon for a spin today, I took this from my bedroom window:

It saddens me that anyone thinks of the south east of England as 80% of the UK!

The rest of us are made of sterner stuff and will be out today as usual. :D

Hi guys,

GreenBean: I've seen on the BBC that it's snowing on the whole island, but I guess riding a sheep to work means that snow isn't that big of a problem;)

Breako': put your feet in the freezer, pour some flour into you aircon unit and it should feel like winter!;) snowing and all!:D

I am with Green Bean on this, shouldn't we be saying 'I tried but couldn't' and not 'I didn't try'.

Australias got the worst of it, way in the 40's. However the Eastern Cape here is pretty hot. Hastings and Gisbourne un-officially went to 44 Deg Yesterday.

Well, it only took us an hour and a half to shift the car and actually be able to re-park it as we'd left it in a different resident zone last night! I really don't trust lambeth not to put a ticket on it!
Can now spend the rest of the day in bed... working... like I normally do  oh the joy of having your office at home
This week I are feeling sleepy!

Only pathetic snow in Bristol today, sadly. Apparently we can expect heavy snow tomorrow though. Here's hoping we get snowed in :D.
