You can produce top quality prints yourself quite cheaply if you invest a little in the beginning.
I'd had endless problems in the past trying compatible inks. They never produced the same quality prints. I'd also had issues with blocked print heads....half empty cartridges....etc. Never again.
I bought an Epson R1800 A3 printer which was around £800 at the time and much cheaper now. I then installed a CIS system (Continuous Ink System) by Ink Republic. This was around £250ish and came with 100ml of each ink.
All I can say is what a fantastic setup. Ink republic are a brilliant company with great after sales service and the quality of the inks was brilliant. You couldn't tell the difference between the originals and the Ink Republic inks.
Once you've bought the system the running costs are really cheap.
