ECM Giotto servicing in the UK

Postby Ieuan » Mon Sep 08, 2008 3:00 pm

Gentles, I have had an ECM Giotto for the past four years. It is the plumbed-in version. Living in Bath, which is a hard-water area, I should have had the foresight to install a water softener, but sadly did not. My machine is now making a funny noise and there is very little crema on the top of the espressos. I imagine the boiler/pump is all furred up. I am about to try soaking up some citric acid through the in-pipe to try to clear what I think may be in there. In the meantime, does anyone know of somewhere, someone, in the UK who can service this machine for me? Bella Barista have given me some email addresses, but perhaps someone out there can also help? Cafetiere coffee is not the same as a good espresso!
For lo! the Board with Cups and Spoons is crown'd,
The Berries crackle, and the Mill turns round.
From silver Spouts the grateful Liquors glide,
And China's Earth receives the smoking Tyde.
