metal polishing compound

Postby dsc » Tue Jul 22, 2008 12:16 pm

Hi everyone,

it's another one of my 'where to get something in the UK' posts:)

Anyone knows what I can use to polish the stainless steel panels on 'my' Elektra? I know in the US they use Wenol Red/Blue (a polishing paste in a tube) and it works great, but I cannot find it in the UK (well not on ebay anyway). Does it come under a different brand name or something like that?

Regards,
dsc.

Hi guys,

thanks a lot for your replies!

In the end I decided to buy something called Peek polish paste. Got it on ebay for around 3£ which is cheap and apparently, according to some reviews I've read, should work well. I will post some pics of before and after when it arrives. I'm really curious whether it's as good as the bakelite polishing paste nr 5 I got a couple of days ago.

Regards,
dsc.

Hi again,

got the Peek paste on Saturday and tried it out a bit yesterday. Wonderful stuff, everything shines, removes any stains, smaller scratches and polishes metal bits very nicely. It's also really easy to use, apply with a hard cloth, wipe out with a dry/damp cloth and that's it. Seriously recommended.

Regards,
dsc.
