Anything I should know about him anything been said in any of the groups ? Looking forward to it but still a little aprehensive since the link with Ian at la mac. But with an open mind he is freindly and coming to me from a way away.

Well I don't trust him. He basically advertised for Ian Escreet for free courtesy of CoffeeGeek. He also perpetuated Escreet's untruths (as revealed to me by Hottop themselves) but then he may also have been taken in. I found his answer to the challenge about advertising a bit pat though.

You may remember he wanted a couple of home roasters to talk to? Well Eward & I have never heard from him. I had a brief email conversation with him which resulted in him running off to Escreet. (The conversation wasn't really about that, I just introduced myself as being Barikman from CG so he knew who I was). He said he wanted to interview me about roasting but never did (like I care!) :?

Anyway you may be OK 'cos you're trade. The hand that feeds him.

Yes he has pissed me off. You noticed huh?

Still, I'd be careful what I tell him: he's good friends with this Ian Escreet, so anything you say about your business will undoubtedly make its way to La Machinetta.

By & large

Steve & La M are not in competition - they are in different parts of the coffee market. Unless or until Steve sells Hottops, that is. Then Steve should wipe him out, 'cos Steve knows what he's doing and cares, whereas this Escreet character patently does neither.
