Custom Made Barista Case

Postby kingseven » Wed Jun 16, 2004 3:24 pm

I am carting all my stuff around in a slightly modified camera flight case (nice and shiny) but its hardly ideal.

Does anyone know of anywhere doing cases to order, with suitable comparment for the essentials for the travelling barista? I have no idea where to start.....

Michel,
Sorry that I can't be of more help!

Mathew Algie's Espresso Warehouse sells two barista kits, both of which seem to be based on plastic toolboxes. However, I don't think these would be suitable for your needs as you almost certainly would have all of the contents anyway -- but toolboxes might be worth looking into.

However, I'm curious about what the travelling barista carries around in his camera flight case? I can see you might want a tamper, thermometer, group head brush, screwdrivers, spare gaskets, cleaners -- anything else?

In my case at the moment:

Beaked frothing jug
2 shot glasses (1oz marking)
Backflush plate
brew unit cleaner
group head brush
shot pots (2* 3 different sizes)
Cocktail shaker
tamper
tamping mat
bar knife
bar spoon
4 spirit pourers
cloths
spices (cinnamon, vanilla, ginger etc...)
paint brush (for sweeping grounds)

I want space for some cocktail glasses and stuff, somewhere to keep it all safe.
