Drinking it black more and more often these days

Postby Terje » Thu Sep 28, 2006 5:10 pm

I think it's a good habit. Milk is fine, nothing wrong with it. But a real good african coffee for instance needs no milk and is in fact often better without it.
Different beans and a frying pan, Zassenhaus grinder and a couple of moka pots...

Got to say that black is best...

Although saying that I have been sneaking a few lattes recently...

I absolutely looooove the a monsooned malabar as an espresso machiato with full fat milk. Never met a coffee-milk-balance like that before!
But there is nothing like a good, black african coffee, you're absolutely right.
Lukas

This week I like my coffee luke-warm.

The more posts I see promoting the Monsooned, the more I think that this is a really versatile coffee. From drinking it as an espresso I have now moved to drinking it as my morning staple using a Mocha pot (given that my Old Java is temporarily unavailable).
I'm going to have a go at trying different degrees of roasts with some Ethiopian Mocha I have bought and see how it compares.

I just can't understand why anyone would ever put milk in coffee. It's a completely different drink, with entirely different flavours. There should be a different forum for the 'con leche' crowd.

The only thing I can think of is that they aren't making it properly ;-)
