I believe it is from their radio ad's... there are tv one's as well, but not the men of genius/heroes, that I know of.

I don't bother as long as it works, and most of the time totem plain works

totem has never been keen to work on my system, but that's because most of the codecs require me to use 32bit binaries, and my totem (64bit) doesn't like that. The interesting development that I'm keeping my eye on is helixplayer. Gstreamer still has quite a way to go.

Dom - really media players aren't something I care much about, at least for my desktop. A sexy IDE turns me on much more than multimedia stuff. Looking forward to Radrails on Eclipse 3.2 when I can get round to getting Java 1.5 properly fettled.

Anyway, Totem turns up as part of the default Gentoo Gnome meta-ebuild, as you know.

I used to have all the xine b****cks on my old build, but I haven't had the need to re-visit it. However, it'll be interesting to see what happens when I start streaming mp4 (or Quicktime .mov) movies in the very near future.
