Algae on green beans

I left a green bean in my sink (yes... lazy, dirty bastard) and after a while green algae (or moss?) start to grow around it. Surely that means that green beans have algae spores on them. Is that a worrying fact or completely natural?

Ah, I guess you have read my aluminium article

Maybe the algea spores were there first, in the sink? And the poor bean cought them....
I was amazed what botanical wildlife I found when I opened the pipe underneath my sink for the first time - and I do clean it often, - still....amazing!
