Interesting read, Michel, but it seems like you'll have to wait a few years before you'll drink your first cup of Michel Estate Holland Blue Mountain ;)
This week I am eagerly anticipating the first god shots from my La Spaziale machine....

Try "cocoflor" - and I hope it's called the same name whereever you are :-)
This is a dried and pressed block of (sterilized?) coconut fibers which grows immense when put in a bucket of water - makes some kilos of "soil-like" material. Great for growing tropical baby plants. Keep it moist, but not wet.

If you use real soil - you chance is high you get a fungus in there.
To sterilize soil, put it into the microwave fore a short time.

If you manage to get small baby plants, keep them covered at the beginning. That makes a special tropical microclimate and hopefully prevents them from being used by a special kind of fly that lays an egg into the soil, so that the larvae can dine on the root, that bastard }:-(

Happened to my babies once...

Good luck, I hope one of the suggestions is useful.
