Stewart Lee Allen: The devils cup
Lots about the history of coffee, the way it is still drunk in the countries of origin and much more.
Even Kopi Luwak is mentioned, but dont believe anything the author says about Starbuck.
Funny, interesting and lots of info. I can only recommend to read it.

Which reminds me: shouldn't we arrange links to books on the site? And get referral fees (or however it's called) from Amazon?
This week I am eagerly anticipating the first god shots from my La Spaziale machine....

Should we?
Myself, I refuse to order at amazon or similar companies but support the local bookshop.

I like nothing better than to receive a nice packet of books through the mailbox! Feels like a present every time I get one. Plus, it's so much easier to choose, compare, find rare titles on the strangest subjects (some books I bought recently are: a book on guerilla warfare by some obscure Swiss army major! And I'm going to buy a book on lockpicking soon! I'd never find those in my local bookshop, there hardly are any local bookshops left - sorry Michel, I just realize you own a bookshop. I don't mean to offend you. Maybe we should link to your bookshop if you sell through the net?)

Mmm, I feel uneasy with the commercials here. I don't mind too much I guess (especially as any income would help defray the costs of running this site, as Neku well understands bless him) but too much obvious commercialism on the site might put people off.

Do I feel a poll coming on maybe? Front page or forum do you think?

I don't think it's the sort of thing that needs to be discussed on the front page, so I vote forum, member's lounge.

OK, as always I am swayed by your ineffable wisdom Neku (except for the times when I disagree with you of course! :D)
