Oooh, this is good. If it comes from "on high" then it will have absolutely no effect at all, as people will do precisely the opposite, denial is a national pastime It's very hard to compare alcohol consumption in France with the UK. The French drink wine like the Brits drink tea, however, they don't have even half the problem that the Brits have with binge drinking. What they need to do in France is actually educate people with the notion of "units" of alcohol, it is unheard of there. I remember when I was teaching in France, walking past bars at 7am and there would already be a queue of guys at the bar, knocking back "un ptit blanc"... makes you wonder what is going to happen in England now with 24hr opening.

Does that make me the exception to the rule? ;-)
This week I are feeling sleepy!

Quoted from somewhere I cant remember,

Once the governments of the world have succesfully managed to ban drinking to excess smoking, anonymous sex and anything caffeinated, we probably wont live any longer, but by God it will feel like it.

I regard it as a sacred duty to drink at least three glasses of red a day in order to preserve my health. I feel I owe this to my friends and family.

Life seriously damages your health. Should we all be wearing labels saying so? No doubt the government will nanny us all to death soon enough ........
