But where is the kettle ?

Postby JimS » Thu Oct 13, 2005 5:10 pm

I had a chuckle this morning.... My sister & her husband are staying for a few days so that can get easy access to a trade show in London. They were about to leave for London early this morning and were totally shocked & confused by the fact that we don't have a kettle any more.

Our 2nd hand Rancilio S26 has a big boiler (3.9 litres  ), and we consequently decided a kettle was redundant and ditched it..... Especially as we decided that we needed to use enough hot water out of the boiler so that the water inside won't go stale - so it supplies water for several mugs of tea during the day as well as filling any saucepans with hot required for cooking.

Back to this morning.... it was lucky that Natalee forced me out of bed way way earlier than normal so that I could supply them with a morning caffeine fix. They had been about to go out the door only having had a glass of milk. Tonight the task is to teach them how to use the machine so I don't need to get up before 6 am

Kettle is what New Zealanders have on their dairy farms.

I shall remain as quiet as a lamb about that remark.
