Just to say that I've configured the feature which allows the addition of file attachments to forum postings.

However, if you're writing a large-ish posting and illustrating it with pictures, please consider writing an article instead.

As a test, this posting includes another copy of the two alternate cupping forms from Tom Owen.

Replacement attachment : zip of the two original gifs.

The attachment shows up as a picture. As a result it doesn't fit my page, which would be OK, but the text also disappears from the screen, so I have to scroll to the right in order to read a posting. Is this a problem with a setting on my side, or is this just how the forum (software) works?

Perhaps not such a great feature then?

It was my mistake

Postby phil » Sun Oct 19, 2003 3:27 pm

It was my mistake to post such huge attachments in their native form.

Gifs have a native size in pixels, and those two are just showing up exactly as they should. The fact is that it completely knackers the layout, but that's my fault. After seeing how they turned out I had thought to zip them together and attach the zip, but I haven't got around to it yet.

I'll edit the posting now to make the point. I'll also check the administration function to see if I can put any limits in place on such things, but I'd rather not have to do that.
