Emoticons don't behave..

Postby Joey » Tue Feb 15, 2005 2:52 am

While Joey is still waiting for her beloved emoticon "wallbang" (now Phil should feel my ellbow in his ribs) the other ones don't behave well.
I ask them - after finishing writing - to sit in the middle of a sentence, and they jump to the end of the whole text. All of them. Is this a conspiracy of the emoticons?
What does their creator have to say about this?

Joey :? (this one did it too....)

Hey!

it seams as if they want to have the last "word"

:drink:

Forum software problem. When you click on an emoticon from the list in the window the software adds it at the end of all of the available text, rather than at the current insertion point (perhaps because the app doesn't actually know where the insertion point is - I think this is the answer actually).

So the solution is to learn the codes for the emoticons you like and type them where you want them. If you edit a post containing emoticons you can easily see the codes - they're things like colon (":") followed by a word and then another colon.

Or, providing you are in the full edit mode, just place your mouse over the object you want to insert and the relevant code should appear (at least in firefox) at the bottom of the application window, you can then just type it in wherever you want.
