Aye Up!" As we say here in the North.
I'm a Hasblog refugee and thought I'd better post something sooner rather than later.
I searched here for the word Manchester and had zero results which was surprising as there are a number of very good independent coffee shops in the city centre.

Here's a link to get us started. Personally I love the Fig&Sparrow and North Tea Power as they are both in walking distance from the tram stop at Market Street.

North Tea Power is awesome, Tack coffee too, Home Sweet Home is my favourite as they do awesome milkshakes too, and there an amazing new place on the way out of Piccadilly Station thats there for the next few months as a pop up doing Square Mile and Nude I think

Yeah, I'm slowly working my way round all the independents.
Did you see that post I put on Facebook re-TOAST in Saddleworth? He only charges £1 whatever coffee you have, and there is a very nice selection on offer. Worth a visit if you are in the area.
BTW enjoyed your interview in Coffee Lover magazine.

Did you think any more about resurrecting the wonderful Here's Johnny blend?

Heres Jonny I think will be back when we have the right coffee, were waiting for our Natural Ethiopians to land

A subject close to my heart. NTP is very good (and yes I think the deer hunter is lovely) but personally I prefer Grindsmiths.

Before moving to Manchester I did ask on here about places to go and the other one that was recommended that we (very occasionally) go to is Coffeefix in Gatley

Close to where I work in Stockport there is a new place called Tandem coffee who are trying to do the right thing but I am not convinced they are there yet.

Its such a change from where I used to live. There was the Plan Cafe in Cardiff 30 odd miles away, and on the right day it was brilliant, but there wasn't much else.

Here's Johnny was amazing coffee, as was its label! I remember that NTP blend from a year or so back being great too.

Am slightly embarrassed to say I only went to Takk for the first time a few weeks ago as I'd been meaning to go for ages. Really enjoyed my visit, tasty espresso & excellent glossy milky beverage (whoever steamed it has skill), filter menu + food looked good too but was short on time. I'll definitely be back there next time I'm in that part of the world.

Also as you've mentioned Manchester, please tell me there are some others here that seek out some of the amazing beer that's there? Mmm PSBH But that's probably for another topic.

Oops didn't spot this, sorry! Right now maybe try grabbing bags of Brazil Cachoeira Canario Natural + Burundi Mutara Hill Natural & play around blending %s, maybe 50/50 or 60/40. Blackcurrant + raisins + dark chocolate + buckets of body. Won't be quite Johnny but I think could be a darn tasty natural blend if you're wanting to play, also cracking coffees on their own too, win win!

Actually, Port Street Beer House is fantastic usually having 30+ beers available and also allows local micro breweries to take over for the weekend. Far too many others to list here but see link above.....

Port Street is the best pub in the world, and I'll fight anyone who says differently !!!!!
