Hamburg, June 17 to August 6 2011: "Roasters and Barist

Seen on the german Kaffee-Netz, the organizers were asking to post this on international forums. I can't support them directly, but it's worth spreading the word in my opinion - they're working hard in the german café/coffee scene at the moment and I salute them to it!

Link to their site: Roasters and baristi

Pingo wrote:This summer 11 of the top coffee roasters and best baristi in Germany open a pop up Espresso bar in the city of Hamburg to present themselves in a "Coffee Family" style setting - and "Roasters and Baristi" will be born.

For the first time there will be a place to taste some of the best coffees Germany has to offer, prepared by the top baristi the country has to offer, under one roof. Next to being an Espresso bar, "Roasters and B...aristi" will also be a ground to share and exchange Specialty Coffee know-how.

Each of the 11 Roasters will be presenting one Espresso and a Filter coffee of their choice. During the three week duration of the pop up Espresso bar, their will be several coffee related events, Parties and good food.

The time has come to work together on a new Image of the German Coffee industry, to think into the future with an open mind and work as a team. Roasters and Baristi is a first step into that direction.

In other parts of the world these forms if initiatives are already happening (see Coffee Common in the US), to share, discuss and develop new steps in making this "coffee world" a better place.

Roasters and Baristi is our contribution, and in this Form most likely unique.

We hope that a lot more will grow out of this movement!

The participating roasters will be:
Backyard Coffee (Wolfredo, I believe he's a member on here too)
Black Delight & Quijote Kaffee (initiators IIRC)
Erste Tegernseer Kaffeerösterei
Kaffeemanufaktur Machhörndl
Kaffeemuseum Berlin
Kaffeerösterei Alber
Mondo del Caffe
Phoenix Coffeeroasters
Rehorik Kaffeerösterei
roestbar Münster (without them, I clearly wouldn't have had such a coffee journey these last years!)
Speichersatdt Kaffeerösterei

The participating Baristi will be:
Axel Datschun
Björn Köppke
Eric Wolf (DBC 2006)
Jan-Cort Hoban
Jil Ette
Kai-Uwe Beyer
Kira Schubert
Kyle Greenwood (MrKyle on here)
Nora Smahelova
Paul Bonna
Philipp Mayr
Pujan Zaman-Neja
Sebastian Lösch
Stefanie Heidemann
Susanne Feier
Tolga Daglum
Wolfram Sorg (current DBC!, aka Wolfredo!)

I believe these will be quite some involved and curious three weeks!

Thanks! I'll edit the original when something changes, e.g. our MrKyle has signed up for bar shifts AFAIK :)
