I love this mans logic, to espress is to get the coffee out as fast as possible. So ladies who espress their milk are simply squeezing it out as fast as they can. Can this be made into a tastefully produced Olympic event?

Don't be upset at his remarks Jim, we love our favourite barman.

Our Todd is a marketing dream, suppliers can now sell us their roastery floor sweepings knowing we will never know the difference. All hail the Todd.

Errrrrr! what the hell is Todd short for?

It isn't short for anything and it means "fox." Go figure.

I decided I needed a bit of a change so I roasted some Monsooned Malabar. That was a change!

Made me smile. Another article reminding the increasingly insular coffee industry to climb out of its own backside.

However it's written not by a regular consumer but by the owner of a roastery who quite clearly feels threatened by all these clever young bucks and their attention to detail.

I don't think it's all bullshit either, obviously it's derived from something tangible, but it reads like he's taken it to a pretty far extreme.

This is funny, true, and can be found in the States: "..explaining why he's morally opposed to making your espresso the way you ordered it. And then you pay him five bucks."

There is an element of hypocrisy with a few of these cutting edge coffee shops in the states, but I think it was a lot more prolific two years ago, and it feels like it's settled down a little now.

This is not true: "Truth is, we live in the computer and commuter age; the world is tiny and coffee only comes from the small band around the middle. We all have access to the same beans."

Surprised that anyone who spent the time crossing Antartica to the South Pole alone on foot is worried about waiting for a coffee.

Starbucks is faster, none of that overrated SO crap either ...... horses for courses.
