Too Much Coffee

I think they've got a kiosk outside the north entrance of Gower Street Waterstone's on Torrington Place (couple of streets off Tottenham Court Road behind Habitat) as well.

I had a cappuccino so can't comment on the espresso in isolation but the prep and pull for the cappuccino were good with a bit of latte art to finish.

As charmon said we're becoming better/well served in London, nice to be able to pick up a decent coffee in passing from a street kiosk on a cold afternoon.

Agree with that - had a cappuccino in the Royal Festival Hall cafe a couple of weeks back, served in a paper cup... but with a rosetta on it!

Suggests to me someone who cares about the drink they serve, even if management doesn't... strangely heartening in many ways!

Yeah - as said by Styles - affogato is ice-cream and espresso.

Thinking about it I enjoyed the sacred shot because it wasn't the fruit bomb I'd got everywhere else. Its good London has moved on from this (if you know what I mean).

I like espresso to have sweetness body then acidity, and I always found it to be the other way around in London in the past.

Hmm, I'm surprised Steve, I know where you are coming from when you talk about acidity, but I've got to agree with Mark and say that Sacred has always been too... ahem "toasty" for me. I've not been back for a couple of months, so will give them a try again soon.

The game is definitely on the up, that's for sure. My only wish at the moment is a bit more variety in the blends used.

I think I'd agree with the offhand rating above, and say it is a close thing between FW/MB and Fernandez.

I must make the effort to go and check out the boys out east though. Steve, Mark, Jim you guys up for another crawl, it's that time of year!

i think i found a second sacred store tucked in under a staircase in kingly court just behind their existing store. Not sure how long its been there, never noticed it before, its tiny, but i suppose they get some passing traffic from all those boutique shops.

funny little place

I had a double from the new Sacred at Westfield (that place was disgustingly busy today!) It seems they have recently changed coffee supplier - but I didn't catch who, though it was their own blend.

They were very busy but the shot was nice.
