just a short hello to say thank you very much for coming past on Saturday (Steve and Colin) and Gwilym (today). It is an honor to have such respected coffee people spending time in my part of the world. John Gordon is with me all this week 12 to 5 as well, so he is getting to spend some quality time on our shiny Synesso and it is pulling some wonderful shots and he is getting rave reviews on his artwork, so I am very happy (but not sleeping much!!).

Cheers.

Peter at Kaffeine

We loved Kaffeine, one of the highlights and ANOTHER great London coffee location.

Hope alls well Peter, place looks great

Hi guys,

so going to London again on Saturday.

Places on my list: Tapped&Packed, Bea's, Dose, and the usuals.

Any other new places I should consider? Really looking forward to T&P to be honest.

Regards,
dsc.

EDIT: apparently it's Tapped not Tamped.

Hi Gwilym,

I was thinking of paying you a visit, but thought you might be stuck in the US. If not now I will come by soon in a couple of weeks anyway.

Regards,
Tom

Depends really on what you've already done Tom. Have you checked out the new(ish) Taylor St for example (go for the brewed)? Or a return trip to Fernandez to see what they are doing with their HB roast? Hard to recommend places without knowing what you've not tried recently. London has definitely reached a critical mass of decent places to visit in a day.

Hi guys,

well I've been to the following:

Milk Bar, Flat White, Monmouth (both), Kaffeine, Dose (once), Espresso Bar, Prufrock.

I'd love to try some brewed coffee (drip/FP) as I'm a bit sick of espresso lately (haven't had any for a long while). Curious what they are doing with Steve's beans at F&W, so I will definitely go there and Taylor St sounds tempting.

Regards,
dsc.

OI! I think I spend more time in London than you do, and I don't even live there any more! :P
Last time we were both in town, you were too busy signing autographs at Excel centre all week! So I had to 'make do' with Espresso Room and Kaffeine instead  You just wait till the end of June! Still want to have a proper shot off your Athena, last time I had to put up with the Hoff's efforts.
Safe journey home mate.

Hi guys,

right, just got back from my short trip, only managed to do T&P and Kaffeine (again). Had a siphon at T&W and it was quite decent, not mind blowing, but not bad either. The brew was quite clear, but very similar to a what I get from a drip, so I'm guessing something was a bit off (grind or method). It is quite a spacious place, nice 'sofas' to sit for a sec, read a paper or some tables at the back if you fancy a longer stay and something to eat. I'd definitely recommend the place and will be going back for sure (the whole area is lovely as well).

Regards,
dsc.
