Visiting Oxford....

Postby LeeTrowsdale » Mon Oct 06, 2008 7:46 pm

I am going to be in Oxford in a couple of weeks time for a day and wondered if there were any coffee shop recommendations?

I found an old thread from March where no real recommendations were made but wondered if anything has changed in the last 6 months?

BTW. I went in to Roasters in Scarborough on Saturday and thoroughly enjoyed an espresso with Barry (and my kids!). Top marks Barry and thanks for sparing the time

Been over a year since I was last there... only place I had kick-ass espresso shots was at Cakey's. Hopefully he'll come along soon with good news for ya :)
This week, I'm mainly recovering :DAll I've got is my Aerobie AeroPress | 70's Aurora/Brugnetti HX Spring Lever | Mazzer Mini E & SJ (on loan) | Hottop | Nestor Martin (Toto) Gas Roaster | Eva Solo | Moka Pots

Hi Lee, have you been yet? I have been 'offline' for a little while and only just seen this thread.

I still don't know of anywhere round these parts. If you find a good place, please let us know! Sorry to be so vague.

Just got back tonight. As it happens I was staying at the Oxford Hotel on the outskirts and didn't get chance to actually get into Oxford. The Hotel conference coffee was the same as usual :(

Indeed I did although some of the French staff working there did make it bearable
