Hong Kong.

Is it actually possible to find a good shot?

Hong Kong.

I've been in Hong Kong. In Central just down from my mates flat we saw a sign saying 'best coffee in town'.
It was coming from this place called Eat Right.
To get there just ride the Mid-Levels escalator up to Staunton street and then back down a couple of doors.
Its a 'health food' (*shudder*) restaurant but don't let that put you off. I don't know what kind of beans they use but they are from 'Toby's Estate' in Australia. The young barista guy was really into doing a good job for us. Once he knew we were in there for his coffee he was great and came out to check with us that all was well with our double espressos. And all was well every time we went there. If you can't face having a healthy breakfast then you can get huge fryups with beer 24 hours a day round at the Flying Pan on Elgin street and then get a decent coffeee at Eat Right. If anyone else knows anywhere good in HK please reply as I'd like to go back there.

Lan Kwai Fong, there's a cafe on a prominent corner - its hard to miss - looking across the street and down across the intersection, with open windows/doors to the street. Has always been a good espresso/cappu from there, and also a nice place to sit. May have an aussie name, but I'm not sure.

I am pretty confident that is Twentyonetwentyone bar. I had no idea they do good espresso there. I'll check it out. Same for Eat Right. I had seen their sign, but I just smirked at it when I passed by. Will give it a go tonight.

Very decent shots can be had at Cafe Zambra in Wanchai. In TST there is another good bar called Crema Cafe (Malabar Gold), but I have not been there yet.

I checked the photo on that link, and it doesn't look like the place. I think I need a good map of Lan Kwai Fong and then I can point out the corner that it sits on. Its a small bar that does coffee as well, think they have a La Marzocco - it connects to a restaurant beside it, which I use to use their facitlities in the back ;-)

Keeka> You caught me wrong-footed. You were talking about Kosmo, weren't you!

If my memory serves me well I went there once during a very busy lunchtime. The espresso tasted a bit bitter and burnt.

According to the website there is a Kosmo in London as well!
