I’m going to Salford on Wednesday.

Anybody know anywhere worth having a look at?

Thanks again

Regrettably, Costa in the Lowry Outlet Mall is as good as I have found in Salford.

You might try Cafe Rouge in the Lowry Plaza but I haven't for a while.

Outside the Quays area I have no idea.

I went to the Lowry Centre last week - I often do. Not, as previously intimated, for the coffee particularly but for a light lunch on the way to somewhere else.

The lad behind the bar boasted that he would make me the best cappuccino I had ever tasted. I told him I doubted that (particularly as I had just seen him turn out two huge cups of watery espresso with utterly no crema) so I think he took it as a personal challenge.

He presented me with a beautiful looking drink, though the foam was not as dense as one might like and there were absolutely no pretensions to latte art, and it did taste rather good - given that I know they use Costa house blend in their machines. I had to tell him it was good though I didn't tell him it wasn't the best I had ever had - that accolade belongs to some Italian fella iin either Pisa or Florence (in fact just about any barista in Pisa or Florence.) So well done that man!!
