Coffee in Athens?

Postby Pico » Fri Mar 30, 2007 5:50 pm

Off to Athens early May for 3 days.

Apparently the coffee scene is gaining momentum. Starbucks already has about 60 locations in and around Athens. Any coffee shops to recommend either for drink quality, product range, store design, or nice atmosphere? Thanx.

yeah, maaany coffee places there, and many are open until 1 in the morning or so, goood...
The general athenian(??) espresso is a bit burnt though, and iced coffee is very popular, which is good if made
with fresh espresso, but most greeks drink em made with instant, and those are awful..
Hm, still haven't advised you where to go... oh welllll..
But anyway, i found it easy to find nice coffee places in athens, and in general the espresso was not bad..
excellent, smithers...

Isomac Itala, waterfilter, some shiny grinder that works pretty well, but has no brand I think.
