It appears that I have wandered trouserless into a minefield.
How dare you lot poke fun at the Ancient Kingdom.
Given that Paws is originally from Dundee, it is entirely understandable that he thinks of Aberdeen as the epitome of urban sophistication.
I will reply to our friend from Stirling when I have some idea of its geographical location. At the moment I'm assuming it's somewhere in Eastern Europe but can't be sure.
Seagulls or indeed any other form of bird life to be found in Fife, is a subject best avoided at the moment....cough...cough..

I......I.......you really do come from Dundee...don't you?:?

Dundee I like. Went to Uni there and worked and lived there for many years.
I still buy my green beans from Braithwaites and have done so for nearly forty years.
The place has really come on in the last few years but it's still difficult to find a decent espresso.

Yeah, I sure do come from Dundee.

I actually used to live near to James Aimer. Mmmm...the smell of a roast every morning. Lovely.

Snap. So did I, studied elecrtonics.... :D

Apparently The Glass Pavillion in Broughty Ferry is worth a visit for coffee, can't vouch for it personally but I intend to pop in when I get the chance...

No not me George, my hand must have brushed against the keyboard as I stretched out to get my luxuriously tasting double ristretto that my new Vivi so effortlessly produces using my new naked PF and accidently typed the above post... :P

Well, some say that you don't get a decent espresso in Dundee.

The way work in Aberdeen is going...well...may not be long before you do get decent espresso in Dundee.

I didn't make it to Kilau last trip, couldn't find it! :P But I was back there today and managed to find it. Really nice coffee shop, the clientele seemed to be mostly students so I did feel somewhat out of place in my suit! Only stayed long enough for a single espresso and got an Americano to go.
The shot was better than average, but the crema was thin and very pale, however there was no bitter taste in the cup so I did enjoy it.
I'll definitely be going back when I'm after a coffee in Aberdeen...

I was in Aberdeen for 3 days this week and managed to find Kilau after asking at McBean's at the end of the street. It's the purple door next to Dare hairdressers and you go upstairs. Studenty, solid wooden furniture, games, nice food and excellent coffee. Nice staff too, friendly, and the owner or manager playing scrabble, watched by mates and doing a crossword at the same time -while staff delivered 2 doubles to their table. Very nice. I visited several times during the trip.

EDIT: Oh and they sometimes manage latte art
stuff
