Coffee at work

Having the opportunity to work a shift with the other coffee-holic in our shop, this is what we did (please note that we did not drink Illy!):

It looks like Vietnamese coffee with condensed milk. Had some in San Francisco it was very nice but not habit forming.

What is it with bosses and the smell of coffee? I took my machine in a fortnight ago and discovered that my boss is allergic to caffeine or something to the extent where he gets headaches. And he's not the sort to make that kind of thing up. In the end I put my beans in double containers to keep the smell down, and grind in the kitchen area.

There is caffeine in that other drink, errrrr TEA I think they call it. Does that have the same effect?

It's hard to get tea that smells as much as my freshly roasted coffee :-)

The white stuff is "Milchmädchen" by Nestle, a horrible stuff consisting entirely of sugar and fat. Some colleagues like it. Its very creamy, so it stays on the bottom of the glass and has to be mixed with a spoon.
The Boss says that the smell of coffee being ground and prepared in the ofice makes the shop smell like an urinal!
Look at our cafetiere. We use the model "Brikka" by Bialetti, the only Cafetiere on the market to create a crema and not adding bitterness to the coffee.

And how exactly does it do that? I've been trying to hold myself back from making the obvious bitter coffee observation.

A heavy steel lid is bolted to the center tube and has about 4mm of axial play. Once enough pressure has build up in the tank, the lid raises and the steam is pressed through the grounds within seconds.
Hence no more bitterness!!!
Give it at try, the 2-cup Brikka is selling for about € 30,-and you wont regret it.

If unrinal smelled like freshly ground coffee, then I'd never leave  . I cannot see how the lovely smell of ground coffee can be compared to the terrible smell that hangs around most urinals :x

Imagine a guy gets really drunk, people try to pour coffee down his throat (instead, spilling it all over his shirt)... but, alas, too late... he goes to the men's room toilet to upchuck, but only makes it to the urinal and then passes out there. Perhaps that's how one gets a urinal-coffee association?

This probably doesn't happen to women half as much - as her girlfriend would most definitely accompany her... what are girlfriends for if not to hold back your hair when you're being sick over the toilet?
This week, I'm mainly recovering :DAll I've got is my Aerobie AeroPress | 70's Aurora/Brugnetti HX Spring Lever | Mazzer Mini E & SJ (on loan) | Hottop | Nestor Martin (Toto) Gas Roaster | Eva Solo | Moka Pots

Sorry guys, but the right answer was given on alt.coffee today: http://www.snopes.com/horrors/food/piss.asp
Moccafaux was damn right to bring his own coffee equipment to the office.

Sorry to ruin your appetite.

Sam.
