Sumatran (Blue) Lintong

Postby tisri » Tue Nov 30, 2004 8:55 pm

HI all,

Here's a quick question. I recently roasted my first ever batch of Sumatran Blue Lintong and have to say it was positively heavenly. Unfortunately it's significantly more expensive than regular coffees (partly due to being organic and fair-trade certified). Since I've already got somewhere north of 20kg of green coffee in the kitchen I'm not in a position to order enough to get a good price break.

So I took a look at standard Sumatran Lintong (i.e. the non-Blue variety) and found it's half the price. So my question - what's the difference? I'm not bothered if it's not certified organic or certified fair-trade but don't want to buy a stack of something that will leave me disappointed.

Any thoughts?

Cheers
John
