Which beans at Notes Covent Garden?

Postby qwerty69 » Mon Jan 28, 2013 10:53 pm

I should have asked when i was in but does anyone know what beans are used in Notes at Covent Garden?

I popped in earlier and had a fantastic Cappuccino but then had a Dbl Espresso that I thought was terrible as there was no body at all; I can only describe the flavour as Lemon Sherbet and very acidic.

Just wondering if anyone knows the blend in order that I can avoid the blend in future?
Izzo Vivi : Mazzer Super Jolly (cleaned with Puly Grind) : Aeropress : Francis Francis X5 (going back in to storage) : Iberital MC2 (broken)

Notes gets their coffee from Square Mile. You might try e-mailing them and asking about which blend they use for espresso. Of course, the results may be the product of a barista having a bad day and not necessarily the product of bad beans. In the end a straight espresso is the ruler by which the quality of a shop is measured. Few produce good ones.
Three Francesconi (CMA) espresso machines - Rossi, San Marco, LaCimbali, Faema and 2 Mazzer Major grinders- CoffeeTech Maggionlino, Hottop, Alpenröst and HW Precision roasters.
I decided I needed a bit of a change so I roasted some Monsooned Malabar. That was a change!
