Folks,

Our new member Hoztrade has informed the team that Twin Trading will be hosting a Q graders course in London on 11-15 April in association with the Coffee Quality Institute (CQI). There are currently not many places left. This is the second year they will have run the course. Last year 13 people were accredited as licensed Q graders.

The course trainer will be Craig Holt of Atlas Coffee Importers (Seattle) who has a vast experience in this field.

As there aren't that many cupping courses in the UK, this could be a useful opportunity for anyone wanting to further their cupping skills.

If you require further information then you can contact Twin Trading: matt@twin.org.uk (hoztrade on here) or joannalawson@twin.org.uk

If anybody is lucky enough to go along, please do let us know how you get on.

Cheers
Dom

Atlas just finished up their course in Melbourne, and by all reports everyone had a really great experience! There are some photos on the 5 Senses flickr site: http://www.flickr.com/photos/fivesensescoffee/ (some of the amazing food was supplied by the attendees, looks delicious!)

Fleur (from our shop) participated despite being relatively new to the industry, and loved it.

All 12 or 13 people who participated passed the course.

Cool, thanks for that Jason.

Opportunities like this are not just good for people in the trade, but for anybody who takes their coffee seriously. It's so easy for us all to get stuck by the limits of our tastes and experiences. I've been lucky enough to cup with some great roasters and cuppers and felt like I learnt a huge amount every time. It really helps to broaden and educate your palate, and actually discussing the coffees afterwards as a group is always interesting.
