food grade lube

hello...
just need a little...
whats the best value stuff and who sells it?
online might be simpler...
will need it to be temperature resistant to about espresso temp...
its for the o-ring on my bacchi machine- this it doesnt come into contact with the drinking water...

For me, Dow Plumba Grease

50 ml for £3-4 from any decent plumbing suppliers.

Engineering supply shops that sell bearings will also have food grade grease in stock. Catering repair services will have it too.

I use lip salve myself. I can't remember when I last had a chapped o ring.

Most lip salve's are petroleum based.
I imagine his could cause ones O-ring to degrade if it was made of rubber.

Yup, we occasionally used vaseline :oops: on parts that did not contact the coffee in the old superauto (may it rest in peace), specifically the plastic 'runners'. Fortunately no rubber nearby, so it worked fine.

And I was always led to believe that Vas was unsuitable for internal use.
