Nicaragua Limoncillo Pacamara Peaberry

At last I really get what a funky coffee is...

The beans in their green state look hideous, large, deformed and really doesn't bode well. Being told by a Roaster thatthey freaked him out when roasting only added to my apprehension.

Well I thought I heard forst pop that went straight into 2C...yup, freaked me out too!

Hasbean says this bean is a nightmare...well Steve you ain't wrong!

But in the cup it is more than worth the stress. Really big up front fruity zest that smacks the tounge like a bolt of electricity. Really vibrant, almost citrusy follow through. Floral too.

Oh and very Funky.

WOuld I reccomend roasting it...no...thats why I am going to lock the greens away until my nerves have calmed a bit.

Is it a great coffee?

Yup.

You've not been to Steve's roastery before, have you Tripto?
Steve is one of the most focused and attentive roasters I know....
Until the phone rings
Actually he'd sell (ie successfully roast) much more if his customer service was sh*t, as he'd then actually be concentrating on what he is meant to be doing, rather than spending all his time helping others
Seem to remember cupping this at HB. Really great coffee for this time of year, must order some more.
This week I are feeling sleepy!

I've found it a nightmare to roast on the Behmor also.

It was especially interesting in the Whirleypop. Still tastes great for a mutant bean...
