SQM Spring blend

Postby Bombcup » Tue Mar 24, 2009 6:39 pm

Got a sneak preview today. Not sure if it is the final draft but I hope so because it was very very sweet, rich and a little bit spicy.

Yay! Glad you liked it. It loses a bit of spice in favour of black cherries after a little more rest. Very simple blend, but a complex espresso (we think!).

Sorry I wasn't back in time to catch you! (Anette pulls better shots than me - the truly wise in the industry know this to be true....)

No worries, didn't think I would be passing so early.

I was told to pull the shot myself. 1/10 for service. Such a chore to make coffee on a Synesso.

Haha! Remember last time I brought cakes? I spent all day driving past Konditor & Cook and Patisserie Paul outlets but arrived with some Mr Kiplings bakewell tarts from Bethnal Green BP garage.

Cake fail.

Just received mine today will try it over the weekend, maybe Sunday to give it time to rest.

What happened to the SMC house-style label, is this a temporary replacement? There are SERIFS on the type...(!)

Hah, reminds me of the excellent business card scene in American Psycho
"Raised lettering, pale nimbus... white. [...]"
"Look at that subtle off-white coloring.
The tasteful thickness of it.
Oh, my God. It even has a watermark."
This week I are feeling sleepy!

Yeah - the labels were delayed getting back from the printer, it will have the usual label as of next week we hope. We did some temporary ones so folk could get their coffee.

It will look like this:

after tasting that colombian through press pot, I'm surprised there are so many dark/bass-ey flavours suggested for this blend. The cup (tell me it was the same colombian coffee!) you made for me was really lifted, blackcurrant and something a little tropical... can i say that?
