2008 awards for best descriptors

Postby BazBean » Fri Jan 02, 2009 9:29 pm

Ok this past year I have noticed some incredibly descriptive and imaginative coffee tasting notes. What would be your favourite.

No prizes, just for fun. (unfortunatly)

my most recent and current favourite which is 100% bang on is from Hasbean with the Toca da Onca Inglaterra from Brazil.

....... Boozy and Pineapples = nailed !!!!!!

i loved this last year easpecailly as it was a lot budget friendly but find it a very very diffrent offering if my memory served me well.

I recall a few of the TMC guys threw some way out suggestions into the mix this past 12 months which turned out to be perfect in description?

WHAT WOULD BE YOUR NOMINATION.

Ha, reminds me of wine labels where they go on an on about some tatses that no one ever gets.
My mates uncles job was to write the labels on wine bottles in oz and he said most of the time they just made it up! tell people what they expect to taste and people read it and they all nod their head in agreement, 'oh yeah i get that cigarbox chocolate blueberry blah blah..' tops.

righto

Best decsription of 2008 for me is ' This tastes good, try it'
It did. think it was Brazil Fazenda Lagoa

Thanks for the clarification Narra.. guess the vast majority of us here are probably wasing our time....
now thats been cleared up by a best mates uncles pet dogs cousin that most of us are mindless sheep who are mind controled by others maybe time for many of the people who take the industry seriously and are passionate about the craft , to open up a tin of good ole nescafe.

Barry, I believe he spoke of low-price (or low-quality) wines in OZ, not special specialty over here ;)

my favourite at the moment is my own description of the Esmeralda Lot #5: Peach ice tea. It took me quite a while to figure out why I was thinking of that the whole time during the cupping - deconstructing what made it appear like peach ice tea was quite helfpul :)

This week I like my coffee luke-warm.
