Too Much Coffee

Hi,

I've been enjoying HB's coffees immensely so far, but I'm considering whether to tempt fate by trying something new. Has anyone tried coffees from either of these two?


-Grumpy Mule (and, isn't that name taken, sort of?)

-Coffee-direct (their site suggests they roast to order / dispatch the day after roasting, but I also see some flavoured coffees, which is worrying)...


The more i think about it, the happier I am to stick with HB - they've been nothing but superb so far. Yet I'm mindful that it's probably sensible to try coffee from >1 roaster...

Any thoughts?

Grumpy Mule has some really good blends. I have in the past tried some with Cakey and was mightily impressed. Cakey will give you a better heads up then myself,

No, I think Grumpy Mule are the Speciality coffee side of Bolling Coffee.

Oh...in that case, Happy Donkey has some great blends I have tried with Cakey. I totally revoke my previous comment based on early morning stupidity!

James Gourmet Coffee ...... or Square mile.

they are the only 2 others apart from Hb that "service" my needs.
there are others but as i have never tryed, i cant comment.

BTW ... James Gormet Formula 6 is an absolute definate, must of a got too , if you dont your mental ... Coffee to experience.
in fact i am off to site now as its been a good 6 month since I had some myself.

It's like most things in life there are good, bad and ok. In my opinion you have been lucky enough to stumbled across the best out there (controversial) this is based simply on, Expertise of roasting, Knowledge of coffee, Range and most important that price v quality thing.
Have fun looking at other sites and trying other coffee, but I bet you a lot of money you will return to HB.

I have no experience of either of the roasters mentioned. But whilst cheking their sites, it occured to me that the maths doesn't work out.

Coffee-direct offer over 70 different coffees. They claim that they are roasted to order and sent out the next day before 12.

70 different coffees. If you ordered a trail pack (227g) of each, 15mins roasting time for each, 15 x 70 = 17.5 hours. then with grinding (all those aroma coffees) and packing. It simply can't be done. But maybe they have 70 different roasters, it must be a big roastery
