Too Much Coffee

Just got some of these beans from Has Bean. Interesting taste, but my early afternoon cup left me fairly wired... I used the same dose etc as normally - anyone else tried these? Do they pack an unusual kick?

I would say more about taste, but I'm not having the 2nd cup I'd planned today - feels like the last one has only just worn off, and I want to sleep tonight

has another couple of cups - nice french press coffee... bit of acidity, and also a bit of chocolaty/nutty richness. Still leave me a little wired, though

Yes - not sure what determines caffeine levels in a bean. Interesting the most beans (aside from robusta-heavy blends, that type of thing) seem to be fairly consistent re caffeine levels, at least IME.

Genetics of the plant.

I think there are a few more things in play than just genetics but one for sure. Roast profile, freshness of green, roast style all play a big part.
