I investigated a jammed grinder the other week and found a pound coin in there. Coin was mullered but the burrs were undamaged. Dittings rule!
Guess the pound isn't as strong a currency as it one was! Ha!

Very seldom do we have anything else than green beans in our bags/boxes, these days...
It was not always so, when I started with the roastery we got our first few bags from a German importer and there we had quite often some pieces of the drying patio, stones and even a piece of metal once. This and the all too often mediocre quality of their "speciality coffee" made me look for a better importer quite soon.
Last year I visited a few roasteries in Sicily and there I've seen a few curious things in the destoners, a silver tooth being the weirdest one I recall...

Could've been a rival cafe... I bet they sneaked in one day and stuck a "Tips Jar" label on the hopper.

yeh I'm with baz on this one, after 2 year grinding 18 kilos a week, havent had a single foreign object yet!! Luckily the cost of the repair is minimal even if it does happen, commercially at least.
Guess its always good to have a spare grinder ey!
